Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 May 2026 · Version: 1.0-draft
These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] for your use of Surifact. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. Please read them alongside our Privacy & GDPR Notice and Community Guidelines.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] to use Surifact. By using the service you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you give us is accurate.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use Surifact.
2. The service
Surifact is a social network with integrated fact-checking. We provide tools to post factual Claims (which are fact-checked) and personal Takes (which are not), to build reputation, and to connect with other suricates.
Fact-check verdicts and trust scores are informational and produced on a best-effort basis. They are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice, and you should not rely on them as such.
3. Accounts and handles
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account.
- You choose a handle at registration. Your handle becomes permanent 30 days after it is set and cannot be changed afterwards.
- You may not impersonate others, or use a handle you have no right to use.
- One person should not operate networks of accounts to manipulate reputation or discussion.
4. The reputation system
Stripes, Vouches and Sentinel ranks are a reputation signal within Surifact. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and create no entitlement.
We may adjust, withhold or reset Stripes, Vouches or ranks where we detect manipulation, gaming, or other breaches of these terms or the Community Guidelines.
5. Claims, Takes and verdicts
When you post a Claim, you ask the community and our fact-checking pipeline to hold it to account; a verdict and trust score may be published alongside it. When you post a Take, you share an opinion that is not fact-checked.
You are responsible for the content you post. We are not liable for the outcome of a verdict, nor for how other users interpret or respond to your content.
6. Your content and the licence you grant
You keep ownership of everything you post. To run the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content to the audiences you choose, for as long as you keep it on Surifact.
When you delete content or erase your account, this licence ends, except where the content has already been shared by others or where we must retain a copy to comply with the law. On erasure we anonymise your remaining posts as described in the Privacy Notice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines.
In particular, you must not post illegal content, harass others, deliberately spread misinformation as Claims, or interfere with the security or integrity of the platform.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or the Community Guidelines, or where required by law. Where reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Surifact is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from content posted by other users.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], and disputes are subject to the courts of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make material changes we will update the version and date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Surifact after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Contact
